This beautiful exhibit of prehnite was collected at a quarry close to where the Civil War Battle of Bull Run occurred near Manassas, Virginia. The green mineral occurs at crusts and vugs in basaltic rock. The transparent to translucent material is fibrous and sometimes chatoyant.
