Oolite (egg stone) is a sedimentary rock formed from spherical grains composed of concentric layers. This particular specimen was found in the Permian Phosphoria layer on the Western slope of the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming. This rock is very heavy and could be oolitic iron or phosphate.
